This is the first week that I got behind in my course work and it is due to an extremely exciting event in my life. I was able to go and see our president at LCCC on Friday. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I have to thank my collegue and team member Mark Smith for the tickets. I owe him! ( Hopefully he doesn't read my wiki's!)
Well, back to content or was it pedagogy,( a word I still have trouble saying) or rather technology. Oh yes TPACK! To say the least I wish I had so much time to write papers about how we must intergrate our pedagogy with our technological knowledge within our content area. Yes, I think I may have heard that before ( sorry if there is a little sarcasm today.)
But I have to say that over the 9 weeks (!) of this course I have progressed a great deal in my knowledge of technology, I feel more able to negotiate the technology to get my students to understand the content I am teaching. I think my students will never forget what they have learned in greek mythology due to the 21st century projects we did at the end of the unit. It was hard to work with all levels of kids on all different technologies, but this week when we went back to the classroom and looked at our projects we were able to critique without getting upset.
I enjoyed the videos, especially the historical perspective of the transformation of the written word. I am looking forward to the conference next week and all the new ideas I willl be bringing back to my students, our future.
